this is not about modifying that GPLed code and turning it into a BSD
licensed work. it's about using patents which RH holds, which are
inherently not under /ANY/ license and writing /NEW/ and /ORIGINAL/ code
which is BSD licensed.
this is /NOT/ about BSD licenses vs GPL licenses.

it's just like running a banana leaf restaurant. you charge RM4 for your
basic BLM, but some people will use the opportunity to eat more than RM4's
worth. but then, when we decided that we'd start a banana leaf restaurant,
we /knew/ that things like this may happen, and are /prepared/ to accept
it. other people buying other food offset the ones who do that, and in the
larger picture it all works itself out.
