I also faced the same problem, at the end I didn't solve it by using
linux and didn't call Telekom as expected, they won't know how to
solve it.
I used my Dlink DSL-300G to do the ADSL connection for me and use the
Bridge to forward the PPPoE connection to my linux box. At the linux
eth, I use DHCP to get that public ip.
By the way guys http://www.no-ip.com is a much better DNS registration
compare with Jaring / TMnet ! It can update DNS entry within 5 minutes
! I already registered my http://www.chclab.net using it. Please stay
tune for more update on my site. Currently is running Gentoo on a
AMD64 ! with jdk 1.5 and it to rock !
