Hi all,
I am extremely proud to announce that the Australian Government have
released a ground-breaking document that assists Aussie Government agencies
to understand the challenges and opportunities of Open Source. It is well
written, understands the importance of community, and is something that the
Aussie OS community can be proud of, as it shows we are getting somewhere
with our message.
I wanted to introduce it to this list, particularly as I believe it would b=
e
useful to some of your Governments in writing material about Open Source.
There are some other great guides out there, but I really believe this one
is balanced and presents a picture rationally enough to win over even the
most stubborn of proprietary fanatics.
http://www.agimo.gov.au/_sourceit/sourceit/oss
If anyone would like to give feedback to the agency behind the guide, pleas=
e
feel free to pass it back to me and I'll pass it on, or put you in contact
with them.
Warmest regards, and rock on freedom fighters :)
Pia
