Asian OSS Training Program
2005 in Singapore - Closing Date 7 July 2005
Dear All,
The Center for International
Cooperation for Computerization (CICC), Singapore will be working
with School of Information Systems (SIS), Singapore Management
University (SMU) to conduct the Asian Open Source
Software Training 2005, from July 25 to 30, 2005 at the SMU
city campus. This training session will be conducted over a week,
and the trainees will come from various countries that participate in
the Asian Open Source Symposium. The Basic course will cover basic
aspects of open source, which includes LINUX/UNIX, Open office and
popular OSS Applications and tips on developing applications. The
course will also prepare the participants to set up and maintain the
training environment, i.e. network, security, users management,
backup/restore etc. Selected participants with Unix or Linux
related experience, will attend advanced sessions, which will include
additional instructions on Linux System administration and prepare
trainees for taking certification exams. For more details on the

In recognition of the past
co-operation
between CICC and MNCC on the Asean OSS Training Programme,
CICC, is offering places for 5 to 7 trainees from Malaysia. Those
interested will have to submit their applications through MNCC which
will nominate suitable candidates to CICC. Applicants
should send an email to MNCC providing information about themselves
following the template below. The email should be sent to admin@mncc.po.my with the subject
title "Asian OSS Training Program 2005 Singapore"
