I have to do further reading of the nature of copyright law, though you
may be quite right.
To clarify, I was referring to its non-copyleft status. Since the term
"derived work" in software has really never been properly defined by the
license or a court of law, it would be a trivial exercise to get the
BSD-licensed software to be relicensed.
