[ossig] Invitation to participate in a session with MAMPU (long)

Dear All,

On behalf of the Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management 
Planning Unit (MAMPU), I would like to invite you to attend a dialogue 
session with MAMPU on the subject of The Malaysian Public Sector Open Source 
Software Initiative.

The objective of the dialogue is:

1.To present the Public Sector's OSS Master Plan to interested members of the 
private sector and the OSS community. The Master Plan covers the vision and 
mission of the Initiative, as well as the objectives, policies, strategic 
thrusts and targets.

2.To invite active participation and input from the participants during this 
dialogue. A discussion on the Master Plan, the direction of the Government of 
Malaysia and other matters related to the development of OSS is welcomed.

3.To put forward ideas and suggestions on improving the usage and development 
of OSS within the public sector, the private sector and the community at 
large.

The date for this dialogue is yet to be set. This is mainly because we need to 
have an idea of the number of people interested to attend so that we can 
organise a suitable place. We intend to be inclusionary, rather than 
exclusionary and therefore hope to be able to accommodate everyone.

To that end, you are invited to register your interest on our website at:

If the number of interested people is very large, we may elect to have more 
than one session. Once the date(s) and place(s) has been confirmed, a formal 
invite will be posted on the website. You will also receive individual 
invites.

On a personal note, I would really like to have a lot of people attending. It 
is time that the community engage with the government to air their views and 
opinions so that a beneficial future can be achieved. Walk the talk, my 
friends.

Another thing, on the online registration form, you need to input your 
company/association. If you're planning to attend as an individual, without 
any association to any entity, just put in "Individual" without the quotation 
marks.
