I am very pleased to announce to that inconjunction with the National ITStandards Committee, LUGS is running the very first LSB 3.0 Trainingworkshop in Singapore on September 1st. We believe this is the first ofit's kind anywhere (and who said Singapore cannot make a differencein the open source movement :-)).

The Information Technology Standards Committee (ITSC), together with theInstitute of Systems Science (ISS) and the Linux Users' Group (Singapore)(LUGS), is holding a one-day LSB 3.0 Training Workshop on 1 September.
Linux Standards Base (LSB) version 3.0 specification was newly releasedon July 1, 2005 by the Free Standards Group. The organisers see this asa timely move to organize the Training Workshop on LSB version 3.0 for theopen source community in Singapore. Mats Wichmann, Chairman of LSBProject, will be personally conducting the workshop, which aims to equipparticipants with an understanding of the LSB version 3.0 compliance testprogram for runtime systems and applications.
Pre-requisites of participants: Prior experience with installing & using Linuxwill be useful. Preferably to familiarize themselves with LSB specificationbefore they come for raining.

Fee: S$50 nett per person (fee includes refreshments & lunch. No trainingmaterials will be provided.)
