The Malaysian National Computer Confederation (MNCC) is a confederation and national professional body dedicated to promote and advance the professional development of ICT, Computing and Digital Technology in all its disciplines as well as to facilitate the active exchange of information and ideas in Malaysia and the region.
MNCC was formerly known as the Malaysian Computer Society (MCS). And was first established in 1967 at University Malaya. The transformation to Gabungan Komputer Nasional Malaysia or the Malaysian National Computer Confederation was carried out by the Government of Malaysia in 1988 by registering the association as a company limited by guarantee (175039 – M) under the Companies Act 1965. The reasons for the transformation (among other things) were to improve operational effectiveness as well as the ability for MNCC to establish more branches easily.

To promote and develop the science of Information Technology and to foster and maintain research and development into the best means and methods of developing and applying such science and to encourage, disseminate and promote knowledge, education and training and the exchange of information and ideas in respect of all questions relating thereto or connected therewith;
To provide means for considering questions affecting the interest of the computing profession and take whatever action that may seem desirable in relation to legislative or other measures affecting the profession; and
To extend as widely as possible the knowledge and appreciation of Information Technology, Information Processing Systems, computer-based control systems and theory-related thereto.
MNCC is a founder member of the South East Asia Regional Computer Confederation (SEARCC).
MNCC is an associate member of the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP) through SEARCC.
MNCC has a cooperation arrangement with the Centre of the International Cooperation for Computerisation (CICC) Japan.
